Thirsk – Tuesday evening meditation class
Understanding the Mind | 7 – 8.15pm | 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd October | with Richard Hoyle
This 4-week course will introduce the Buddhist approach to understanding our own mind. By developing meaningful insights into the nature and function of the mind, we can learn practical methods to improve our everyday life. Each class will introduce meditation practices that enable us to identify and let go of negative and unhappy states of mind such as anxiety, anger and stress. By doing this we can gradually abandon states of mind that harm us, and replace them with peaceful and beneficial ones.
Everybody Welcome
November Classes
November 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th | 7 – 8.15pm | with Richard Hoyle
We often find ourselves wasting our life worrying about what might or might not happen, and failing to appreciate what we have in the present. On this 4-week course, we will learn meditations that enable us to recognise and unlock our unique capacity as human beings for spiritual growth.
By contemplating our human potential, we will awaken great spiritual energy and the power to eradicate our habitual negative minds and preoccupation with the trivialities of this life. In this way, we can learn how to seize the day and make our lives truly meaningful, for both ourselves and others.
This course is suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to experienced meditators.
