On this special Spring Retreat, we will dive deeper into the essential meditations on reliance upon a Spiritual Guide, the root of all spiritual attainments.

The retreat will provide a unique opportunity to revisit the commentary to the special Kadampa prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche from his Faithful Disciples given by Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong in December 2023, or to hear this commentary for the first time for those who did not attend.  This deeply blessed prayer is at the very heart of the spiritual practice of fortunate modern Kadampa disciples. These precious teachings explain the meaning and importance of this prayer and how to use it in daily life.

Gen Varahi will guide this weekend retreat, which will also include a celebration of NKT Day by remembering our Guru’s supreme kindness.

We will be using the sadhana Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land in each session.

    Residential: from £170 for a standard single room, inclusive of course and meals.

    Discount for standard members and free for benefactor members (excluding lunch).  Booking in advance essential.

    The price for residential guests includes all meals. We cater for either vegetarian or vegan dietary choices. If you have other dietary requirements, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

    Please be aware that all of our meals are subject to cross contamination.

    Cancellation Conditions for residential bookings:

    If a booking is cancelled less than 4 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. If the booking is cancelled 4 or more days before arrival then a charge equal to 25% of the stay will be made. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

    A vegetarian or vegan lunch is available on Saturday and/or Sunday for non-residential attendees at an additional cost of £7 (for both members and non-members.)

Gen Kelsang Varahi

The retreat will be guided by Gen Kelsang Varahi.  Gen Varahi has been the resident teacher at Vajrapani Kadampa Meditation Centre since 2015 and has been a student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for more than 25 years. She is known for her clear, practical approach, her kind good heart and for showing the natural joy that comes from applying Buddha’s teachings in daily life.
