January 9-15 & January 16-22: Lamrim Retreat

What better way to start the new year than with a Lamrim Retreat, the supreme method to make all of our daily activities meaningful. Gen-la Kunsang will guide this special 2-week retreat that will enable us to dive deeper with our experience of Lamrim.

Enjoy the retreat experience in the beautiful and blessed environment of Madhyamaka KMC, and in the company of spiritual friends.

The sadhana Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land will be used in the retreat sessions.

Week 1 of the retreat will begin on January 9th in the evening with an introduction at 7pm, and then there will be 4 sessions each day. It will finish at lunchtime on Thursday 15 January.

Week 2 of the retreat will begin on January 16th in the evening with an introduction at 7pm, and then there will be 4 sessions each day. It will finish at lunchtime on Thursday 22 January.

We will complete one lamrim cycle in each week, so you can participate in either or both weeks of this retreat.

Price range: £180.00 through £3,032.00

Vajrayogini Close (Counting) Retreat

  • The Purpose: To develop our special connection with Vajrayogini that causes us to draw closer to the attainments of a Tantric Deity.
  • Virtuous Action: To count 100,000 Vajrayogini mantras using Quick Path to Great Bliss prayers.
  • Blessed Location: Madhyamaka KMC is a beautiful and blessed location for engaging in retreat. The retreat will take place in the Bow Room, where Venerable Geshe-la stayed when he visited Madhyamaka KMC.
  • Spiritual Company: The retreat will be undertaken by many students on the Teacher Training Programme at Madhyamaka KMC, who have just finished studying The New Guide to Dakini Land. We hope that other faithful Kadampa practitioners will also join us for this special opportunity to engage in close retreat.

By reciting the three-OM mantra we come closer to Vajrayogini both in the sense of making a connection with a special friend and in the sense of actually becoming the Deity Vajrayogini. When we do a close retreat we emphasize mantra recitation and meditation to bring us closer to the Deity in both these senses, which is why it is called a close retreat.
