New Year Celebrations ~ 24 Hour Tara Chanting

Join us on December 31st for an inspiring talk by Gen Kelsang Norden and candlelit 24 hour Tara chanting to see in the New Year.

Tara is a female Buddha, a manifestation of the ultimate wisdom of all the Buddhas. These chanted prayers, called Liberation from Sorrow, include the blessed prayer Praises to the Twenty-one Taras composed by Buddha. Each of the Twenty-one Taras is a manifestation of the principal Tara, Green Tara.

If we rely upon Mother Tara sincerely and with strong faith she will protect us from all obstacles and fulfil all our wishes. Since she is a wisdom Buddha, and since she is a manifestation of the completely purified wind element, Tara is able to help us very quickly.

The evening will include a light buffet and non-alcoholic refreshments.

Everyone is welcome to join us for this special alternative event to celebrate the New Year.

    Booking in advance essential.

    The price for residential guests includes supper on December 31st and breakfast and lunch on January 1st.

    We can currently cater for vegetarian or vegan diets but we are unable to accommodate other preferences or dietary requirements at this time.

    If a booking is cancelled less than 4 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking will be made. If the booking is cancelled 4 or more days before arrival then a charge equal to 25% of the stay will be made. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

Gen Kelsang Norden

Gen Norden was ordained as a Buddhist nun in 1994 and has dedicated her life to teaching modern Buddhism and meditation throughout the U.S. and the U.K. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge to share with students, which she presents with humour, warmth and clarity.
