    We have a well stocked gift and bookshop selling a variety of gifts, souvenirs, greetings cards, Buddhist books, and meditation CDs, with knowledgeable friendly staff on hand to offer assistance if required.


    The Centre has a beautiful meditation room that is light, spacious and quiet with three beautiful arched windows leading to an outside seating area adjoining the City Wall and views of York Minster.  With its exquisite Buddhist statues this is the perfect place to develop inner peace.


Kadampa Meditation Centre York is the sister Centre of Madhyamaka KMC, near Pocklington that provides a special place of tranquility, rest and reflection in the heart of York.

A variety of classes and courses are offered, from 30 minute guided lunchtime meditations, to an in-depth Buddhist study programme. They are suitable for everyone to learn how to transform negative states of mind into positive opportunities for growth, leading to a more fulfilled and happy life.

We are situated just around the corner from York Minster, the Art Gallery and Shambles and only a short walk away from York Railway Station.

You are welcome to drop in and browse through our gift and bookshop; selling souvenirs, gifts, greetings cards, Buddhist books, and meditation CDs or visit our beautiful meditation room.

Visits from all types of groups and clubs are welcome, such as schools , scouts, WI, U3A, etc, to learn about Buddhism and meditation.
