30 minute guided meditation

Take a break for 30 minutes to relax, refresh and de-stress. Cultivate inner peace through a guided practice and enjoy the rest of your day with a positive and inspired mind.

If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort and so we will experience true happiness and relaxation.  But if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy and relaxed even if we are living in the very best conditions.

  • DATES & TIME

Live-streamed weekly classes.   If you can’t make the class or wish to see it again, you will have access to the recorded class for 48 hours once the live class has ended via a link that will be sent to you.

Monday to Friday 12.15 – 12.45pm  These classes will be available until Friday 24 July.  There will then be a term break until September.  Live 30 minute classes will be available at Kadampa Meditation Centre York on Tuesdays to Fridays throughout August.

We recommend that you find a quiet, comfortable space and wear headphones if you have them (although this is not essential) to prevent distractions and get the most out of the class. Most importantly, enjoy!

  • Breathing meditation

Classes start with a 10-minute breathing meditation, designed to settle the mind and let go of distractions, in order to get the most out of the session.

  • Thought for the day

Be inspired and uplifted with a bite-size 10-minute teaching, emphasizing practical application of timeless Buddhist wisdom.

  • Concluding meditation

Enjoy a 10-minute concluding meditation to help you experience inner peace, take the teaching to heart and then carry it with mindfulness into your daily life.

When the turbulence of distracting thoughts subsides and our mind becomes still, a deep happiness and contentment naturally arises from within.

 FIND LASTING HAPPINESS

The purpose of meditation is to make the mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness.
